Datasheet

Offset adjustable by trimpot or external control voltage. Indication of selected gain setting by LED. Output short-circuit protected. Power supply via 3-pin LEMO® socket. A mating connector is provided with the device. Optional power supply PS-15 available. For further information please view the datasheet.

Outstanding signal to noise ratio

The signal-to-noise ratio was significantly improved with the DLPVA-101 voltage amplifiers, newly developed in 2024. Compared to the previous DLPVA-100 models, the new models are characterised by an order of magnitude lower noise at certain gain levels.

Low offset drift

The temperature drift of the input offset voltage is one of the decisive characteristics for the quality of a DC voltage amplifier. FEMTO Voltage Amplifiers have the DC performance of precision amplifiers. Therefore, even the 100 dB gain is well suited for DC-coupling without the need for permanent offset voltage adjustments.

Bandwidth

The bandwidth of an ideal variable gain amplifier is independent of the gain setting which is very important for measuring fast signals and pulses. The bandwidth of FEMTO's DLPVA amplifiers remains constant at 100 kHz (-3 dB) up to the highest gain setting. Wideband noise can be reduced by switching the upper cut-off frequency to 1 kHz.

Controls

Parameters, e.g. gain settings, bandwidth etc. can all be controlled by local switches directly on the amplifier. Operation is straightforward and the chosen gain setting is displayed by LEDs. For remote control, each switch is provided with a corresponding TTL bit. Mixed operation is also possible.

Flexibility

Six different DLPVA models offer a high degree of flexibility. Our customers can choose either a single ended or a true differential input. The input impedance is 1 MΩ or lower for our bipolar models and an exceptional high 1 TΩ for our FET models allowing measurements of signals from very high impedance sources. Finally the noise is as low as 0.4 nV/√Hz for the model DLPVA-100-BUN-S.
