Why are special cables required?
In precision measurement technology, the overall performance of a system is not solely determined by amplifier specifications. The connecting cable between the signal source and the amplifier is an integral part of the signal path. Particularly with ultra-low-noise current amplifiers (transimpedance amplifiers – TIAs), unsuitable cables can massively degrade the signal-to-noise ratio (SNR). Therefore, FEMTO offers special cables for various applications. Using these cables at the amplifier's input and output can lead to an overall significantly more accurate and less noisy measurement setup.
Which cable for which amplifier input?

Which cable for the output?
For connecting our amplifiers and photodetectors to the signal receiver (e.g. oscilloscope or ADC card), we recommend without exception our RF cable, to minimise interference.
