Brief description
The ILCA series are compact, low-noise transimpedance amplifiers in an OEM design, intended for measuring minute currents with bandwidths in the kHz range. They are designed for integration close to the signal source in equipment and systems.
Features
- Compact, lightweight and robust design for system integration
- Transimpedance (gain) up to 1010 V/A
- Bandwidth up to 500 kHz
- Input noise current down to 7 fA/√Hz
- Switchable gain and bandwidth (local and remote)
Note: These amplifiers are primarily, but not exclusively, intended for integration into devices and systems. There is a minimum order quantity of 5 units.

ICLA - An Amplifier Series for System Integration
Based on the long-proven transimpedance amplifiers of the LCA series, the ICLA was developed as an even smaller and lighter variant. They do not have a closed housing, but consist of printed circuit board with specially developed covers to ensure the same stability and shielding. This new approach for FEMTO enables space-saving installation close to the signal source and within devices and systems.
Two female connector strips allow direct connection to circuit boards, provided that the corresponding male connector strips are available. These contacts enable complete wiring and signal feed. This allows the supply voltage and remote control signals to be transmitted; optionally, even the input signal can be transmitted. An ICLA integrated in this way does not require any cables.
Gain, Bandwidth, and Noise
In transimpedance amplifiers, gain and bandwidth are mutually limiting factors. If one increases, the other decreases. With the ICLA, FEMTO has once again managed to push this inevitable limitation to its limits and achieve the best possible ratio of gain to bandwidth. The ILCA offers up to 108 V/A at 500 kHz or 1010 V/A at 5 kHz. At the same time, noise remains minimal thanks to FEMTO's experience in designing ultra-low-noise amplifier circuits. Down to 7 fA/√Hz is achieved.
Setting Options and Remote Control
For each ILCA there are two gain settings and two bandwidths to choose from. Both can be switched independently of each other, resulting in four possible combinations. Switching can be done locally via DIP switches or remotely via a TTL-compatible control signal. Remote control is of course accessible via the two socket strips, and mixed operation between local and remote control is also possible. For example, the gain can be set via DIP switch, and only the bandwidth is switched remotely as required depending on the measurement situation, or vice versa.
